Last Minute Preparations

We have only two more days in North Dakota before we must be prepared to leave for Africa. It is amazing how quickly the time has flown by and true to tradition we have waited until the last minute to create our blog (among other things..)! But here it is and I hope that we can figure out how to operate it in order to maintain it and our communications to anyone who might care to read it.

The last two months have been filled with lots of family time and preparation and reflection on our decision to go. Both of us are forever grateful for this opportunity and the support we have received from everyone. We are getting a little nervous and are trying to take things one day at a time. It has been very difficult saying our goodbyes, especially to our 6 nieces and nephews who don't fully understand why we can't stay.

We will be flying out from Fargo, ND on Sunday June 4th and will be in Philadelphia for staging for a couple of days. We will be leaving from NYC on June 7th for our flight into Africa. We will land in Johannesburg, South Africa where we will be bused into Swaziland. We will probably have spotty access to internet and will not be able to give real frequent updates but we will do our best!
